"ROSTELECOM" IN ARMENIA AND SOAR ARMENIA REPAIRED THE PARK OF SPECIALIZED KID CARE CENTER

On April 20 the staff of “Rostelecom “ in Armenia cooperation with the Society for Orphaned  Armenian Relief (SOAR) contributed to the improvement of the garden of a specialized children’s home in Nor Kharberd.  
 
The staff members of "Rostelecom” in Armenia, "SOAR" Armenia and from the orphanage conducted a one-day “repairing” event for Kharberd Orphanage.
 
In particular, they have cleaned and painted all the wooden and iron coverings in the garden. The care center was provided also with construction materials and tiles to repair the swimming pool and other areas of the adjoining to the center garden.
 
Due to the efforts from the participating sides, wooden and metallic coatings were cleaned and painted, while the rest of the substances will in future be used for further renovation and upholstering of the swimming pool and other areas of the garden.   
 
The territory of Nor Kharberd is huge and is used by the children as a place for daily rest events, specialized trainings and recreation activities. They spend a lot of time there especially in warm months.  
 
Joint activities were aimed at making the yard more pleasant and attractive for the children, meanwhile the repair and improvement of the swimming pools is to make possible specialized activities for the beneficiaries.
 
The orphanage in Nor Kharberd has been operating since 1950. Today, it has 222 disabled beneficiaries with special physical and mental needs aged 6-18.  
 
The orphanage carries out all-day care for children, provides educational, social, health-care and rehabilitation services, organizes beverage, summer and winter holidays, as well as provides transportation to other 18-year-old' beneficiaries to attend trainings and rehabilitation courses out of the center.
 
Such special rehabilitation services as physiotherapy, ergo therapy, hippo therapy, logopedic and other medical and developing services are involved in the care center everyday schedule.
 
Educational and developing projects such as woodworking, pottery, handmade, others, are the part of their daily rehabilitation and care program for children.
