“ROSTELECOM” HOLD THE TRADITIONAL BLITZ CHESS TOURNAMENT IN VANADZOR.

On October 17, 2015 “Rostelecom” in cooperation with Vanadzor specialized chess school for juniors organized blitz chess tournament for the second time.

43 young chess players who had passed the qualifying phase participated in the tournament. As a result of 9 rounds Sargis Sargsyan (12 years old) became the winner among boys and Qristine Smbatyan (13 years old) among participating girls. Together with the Sports school Council “Rostelecom” decided to give a special prize to Hasmik Qochinyan (10 years old) who had recently won the 5th place at the European Chess Championship.

“Rostelecom” Armenia Comercial Director Sedrak Ghushchyan officially awarded young chess players at Vanadzor Cultural hall named after Charles Aznavour.
After the awarding ceremony the audience enjoyed concert with participation of favorite singers Arsen Grigoryan, Hasmik Karapetyan and Vardan Badalyan. At the end of the event newly launched Rostelecom Smart TV was introduced and the citizens enjoyed their evening with watching a movie through YouTube application of Rostelecom SMART TV.

The ceremony ended with film watching, the broadcast of which was carried out by "Rostelecom" Smart TV Youtube app.
 

Vanadzor specialized chess school for juniors

Vanadzor's specialized chess school for juniors was founded in 2009. Today more than 350 pupils attend the sports school.

Since 2014 the school is provided with "Rostelecom" high-speed free internet connection and takes active participation in local and international online tournaments.

The school graduates have become International FIDE grandmasters and masters of chess. Coaches with international level master here (Garnik Hovhannisyan and Ararat Nersisyan). The school director Arshak Ramazyan is FIDE masteras well.

Teachers who teach the subject “Chess at school”, pass trainings at Vanadzor's specialized chess school, where the branch of Chess Academy of Republic of Armenia is situated.
