"ABC OF INTERNET" PROJECT PARTICIPANTS IN ALAVERDI AND AMASIA RECEIVED CERTIFICATES

Courses conducted in Armenian were organized by "Rostelecom" in Armenia and World Vision Armenia in the framework of the joint program. Training courses were held in computer classes of Amasia Library and “Mission Armenia” NGO in Alaverdi.
 
Access to the Internet was provided by "Rostelecom" Armenia and the trainings were carried out by the young volunteers of regional programs. The volunteers attended a course to get acquainted with psychological specificity of aged trainees.

Participants noted the importance of the knowledge and skills gained.  
 
During the training courses, some of them discovered the new functions and methods of Internet and PC usage. Among the trainees, there were a number of teachers, engineers, healthcare experts, librarians and others who spoke about the importance and great demand on such trainings.
 
Considering the popularity of such initiatives volunteer-trainers will continue to deliver the lessons in Amasia and Alaverdi with other groups in the future.
 
The courses are aimed at helping middle-aged (50+) people to improve their computer and Internet skills. The project has been specially designed for these target groups and is to be easily absorbed by the latter.  
 
The trainings are carried out with the help of "Azbuka interneta" ("ABC of Internet") guidebook (www.azbukainterneta.ru), the total duration of the course is 12 teaching hours. The maximum number of participants is 10 in each group.
 
"Azbuka interneta" ("ABC of Internet") offers such sections as "Working with texts", "Working in Internet", "Information search in the Internet", "Internet security", "Online services", "Online shopping", "Online communication", etc.

Internet functions of state bodies, companies, representing public services and other important resources are also available in Armenian version.
