CHILDREN’S APPROACH TO FUTURE PROFESSIONS: “ROSTELECOM” ARMENIA AND “AYB” SCHOOL LAUNCHED A JOINT PROJECT

On May 30, 2018 the project "Hello from the Future” jointly organized by “Ayb” School and "Rostelecom" Armenia, started the first exhibition led by round-table discussion. The participants got acquainted with the latest trends of future technologies worldwide, saw their use in the most incredible areas (like artificial intelligence (AI) in art), and learned about development tendencies of this sphere in Armenia.

Being one of the leading ICT companies, "Rostelecom" Armenia has joined the "Ayb" School students and supports their project "Hello from the future", emphasizing the importance of implementing such public awareness raising events about international developments in technology and developing technological thinking especially among youth.

"Ayb" school students from the “Tekhnosharzh” club presented “Hello from the future” project, in the framework of which artworks had been created by AI and formed the exhibition.

"Each century has its innovations in art. Our century is that of AI (artificial intelligence), and it is not surprising that innovation enthusiasm towards the art comes through artificial intelligence.

What Ayb's students thought and realized comes to prove that. Connecting two different worlds, they made something special: artworks created by AI are presented at the exhibition. The exhibition doesn’t have two participants, a painter and a photographer, but three of them: a painter, a photographer and artificial intelligence,” –said, the head of Ayb School Aram Pakhchanian.

Nowadays future technologies and the technological future of humanity are the most discussed and prospective topics. Some consider the development of technologies and the reduction of human activity endanger the existence of some professions. On the other hand, the history shows that scientific and technological progresses have always influenced the development of humanity and the effective use of vital resources, which aims to free a lot of time for creative work.

“Nowadays the correct comprehension of artificial intelligence (AI) by children will let them find new ways of its use. The use of artificial intelligence includes more and more spheres day by day reducing human work and efforts. Fortunately, Ayb School highlights the importance of technological education and development of children's thinking. I’m sure, today’s discussion and exhibition are going to be very useful for participants and it will draw a comprehensive picture of what each of us is going to subconsciously use in the near future,” noted the CEO of “Rostelecom” Armenia Hayk Farmazyan.

The authors of the exhibition succeeded in approaching the issue from a different point of view and showing us the role of technologies in our lives and their influence on our lifestyle, education, and profession.

Parallel to the exhibition leading professionals of the sphere Vazgen Hakobjanyan, the head of the “Tekhnosharzh” club of “Ayb” School; Artur Khalatyan, lecturer at AUA, founder of the Department of Data Science, Arsen Mamikonyan, founder and director of “HiLearn”, and lecturer at AUA and Habet Madoyan lecturer at AUA and director of “Datamotus” presented their vision of technological development and discussed the human role and participation opportunities in it. And most importantly, the discussion covered the topic of how to prepare for the most interesting professions of the future as well.

“Ayb” school

“Ayb” School is a new learning environment where unique education technologies are being developed nationally and tested to the highest achievements of contemporary education in support of Armenian education competitiveness.
“Ayb” school aim is to become the model of the 21st century Armenian school.

“Ayb” school was opened in 2011 by the “Ayb” Educational Foundation with the financial support of hundreds of benefactors around the idea of educating and exploring future talents.

“Ayb” high school is the first non-governmental social program in Armenia, and about 70% of students each year receive scholarship (like education payment recompense).

 

“Ayb” school have 12 years educational system such as: elementary (1-4 grades), secondary (5-9 grades) and high (10-12 grades).

Education process in “Ayb” school is held by the "Ararat Bachelors" (AB) program.

"AB" is an internationally recognized program based on Armenian-language, best-in-class Armenian education and leading achievements in world-class education.

It was developed by the “Ayb” Educational Foundation and elaborated within the National Education Excellence Program jointly with the State.

The Ararat Bachelor program has been launched in RA regional schools so that it can be accessible to all Armenian children in their respective regions for free.
