On May 23, for the first time the "Legostart 2021" competition was held with the support of “Rostelecom” Armenia

The competition was organized by "Ayb" educational foundation, which is the official representative of the World Robotics Olympiad in Armenia.

"Legostart 2021" was aimed at developing the skills, abilities and knowledge of the teams taking the first steps in the field of robotics, so that they could confidently participate in the international tournament of "World Robotics Olympiad" in the future.

This year "Legosart" had a thematic focus․ The teams competed on issues the solutions of which are aimed at overcoming the epidemic and natural disasters.

11 teams from Yerevan and regions of the Republic of Armenia participated in the competition.
The winners of the "Legostart 2021" competition in the age groups were the following teams:

- "NAV" - elementary age group (Dilijan)
- "Gazprom 4" - junior age group (Yerevan)
- "Mush" - senior age group (Gyumri)

“Rostelecom” Armenia had initially provided Lego Mindstorms EV3/NXT Lego kits to 3 of the participating teams, 2 of which became the winners of the competition.

"We are very happy to support such a wonderful program this year. I think that "Legostart" will give a great opportunity to beginner teams to master the skills and participate in more professional competitions in the near future, such as the national tournament of the World Robotics Olympiad and, why not, the international stage. I wish good luck to all the teams on the way to further achievements," mentioned the CEO of “Rostelecom” Armenia Hayk Faramazyan.

The company also supported the implementation of a professional training course organized by Creative Educational Technologies, which aims to develop the skills of beginner team coaches.

"The first “Legostart” competition is an important event for us, as we are testing this format for the first time for lego-robot enthusiasts who are taking their first steps in this field. I am very grateful to our partner “Rostelecom” for their continued willingness to support the development of robotics in Armenia. It was in cooperation with “Rostelecom” that we came to the conclusion that we need to create a preliminary platform where we can give beginner teams the opportunity to try their hand at robotics and have more serious robotics achievements in the future," said Executive Director of “Ayb” Educational Foundation Sona Koshetsyan.

The "Legostart 2021" teams have a good opportunity to participate in the national tour of the World Robotics Olympiad to be held in July.
