“ROSTELECOM” CONTRIBUTES TO THE REALIZATION OF DISTANCE LEARNING COURSES WITH REGIONAL SCHOOLS

On October 21 Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia jointly with “Rostelecom” in Armenia launched pilot distant education courses from “Ayb” school with regional schools. The project is realized in the framework of regional schools development concept.

With the “Rostelecom” WEB֊Conference video-call service connection from Yerevan “Ayb” school with Kapan Lernadzor village, Sevan N1 and Ijevan N5 schools was established.

Jointly with Bilor Kurghinyan (Physics) and Levon Sargsyan (Chemistry) teachers from “Ayb” school pupils realized an integrated class on “Electrical Power Generation and its peculiarities”.

“The entry of new technologies into our everyday life is already reality, and “Rostelecom” in Armenia realizes continuous projects for the expansion of the use of new broadband technologies in different areas including educational”,- mentioned CEO of “Rostelecom” in Armenia, Hayk Faramazyan.

During the class experiments were conducted, questions and discussions ensured children's maximal involvement in the process. At the end children made power source from lemon and apple, participated in an active discussion.

Distance learning allowed pupils to define electrical power generation, properties of series and parallel circuits of connection, define the ion and explain its origin, present the use of differences in electron binding energies (based on the example of lemon and acetic acid electric conductivity), as well as describe chemical sources of electricity.

Distance learning courses between Yerevan and regional schools will be implemented continuously.
