“ROSTELECOM” IN ARMENIA AND THE MUSEUM OF RUSSIAN ART LAUNCH “ART FOR EVERYONE” JOINT EDUCATIONAL PROJECT
“Rostelecom” in Armenia and the Museum of Russian Art start “Art for everyone” joint educational project is aimed at involvement of the children from care centers, children's homes, as well as the children with disabilities, other groups in cultural life.
On November 16 the first group of children from Vanadzor children's home visited the museum. They took part in two projects for them: “Art, types, genres, techniques” and “My home is my castle”.
Educational projects at the Museum of Russian Art are designed in the result of cooperation of museum specialists and teachers, psychologists and art critics and are aimed at making the process of art perception more interactive and accessible for children.
Guided by international experience of museums in non-formal educational activities, specialists offer preschool and school children to get acquainted with the museum permanent exhibition not only through classical excursions but also through interactive games and learning devoted to the art. They are aimed at developing children's attention, logical mentality, visual memory, as well as enrichment of knowledge and vocabulary about fine art, their perception of beauty, aesthetic sense.
“I am sure children should start art perception and communication yet in childhood and it is our duty to support the process of making such projects accessible to all children”, mentioned CEO of “GNC-ALFA” CJSC, “Rostelecom” in Armenia, Hayk Faramazyan.
For the more productive realization of projects “Rostelecom” in Armenia provided the museum with necessary equipment: projector, screen, etc.
There are 5 educational projects designed by the museum: “My home is my castle”, “Seasons of the year”, “Zoo”, “Guess the picture”, “Art, types, genres, techniques”. Being held since March 2015 they rise considerable interest among children hosting about 350 preschool and school children monthly.
In addition, “Rostelecom” provided the museum with free Wi-Fi yet in summer and plans to extend the scope of cooperation and joint projects in future.
About Museum Educational Projects
“Art, types, genres, technique”project is designed for children aged 10-15. Based on the Museum collection children get elementary knowledge about theoretical basics of art, which are not included in the state school program. The project is accompanied by interactive games developing logical thinking and visual memory.
“Seasons of the year”game-excursion is designed for children aged 4-7. Through the landscape paintings presented at the museum children get common knowledge about the seasons of the year as well as natural phenomena. During the practical part of the project children compose under the melody of “Seasons of the year” by P. Chaykovski as well as guess riddles.
“Zoo” project is designed for children aged 4-7. Through the painting “Zoo” by “B. Grigorev children are told about animals, learn to love them and care for animals and surrounding environment. During the practical part of the project children play different interactive games in the context of the given topic.
“Guess the picture” project is designed for children, adults and families. The project is aimed at introducing museum culture and ethics, convey the basic knowledge about types of art, techniques and genres. During the practical part each one chooses one object from the exhibition and freely reproduces it. At the end of the project participants should guess the picture which their friends have reproduced.
“My home is my castle” project is designed for children aged 11-14. Through the paintings of the museum main exhibition “Warm day” by N. Krimov, “Rest in the steppe” by P. Kuznecov children are introduced to the concept of home, historical development and its types based on geographical and cultural factors. The project is accompanied by practical tasks.
The Museum of Russian Art in Yerevan (Prof. A. Abrahamyan's collection)
Situated in the capital city (address: Isahakyan 38, near Cascade) it has been working for about 30 years, introducing its visitor to the late 19th-early 20th century Russian art (painting, graphics, sculpture, decorative-applied and theatrical design art) with a collection of world significance, great historical and artistic value.
The museum exhibition includes works of such painters as K. Korovin, V. Serov, M. Vrubel, M. Nesterov, A. Benua, Z. Serebryakova, B. Kustodiev, A. Golovin, E. Lanseren, M. Voloshin, K. Petrov-Vodkin, N. Rerikh, R. Falk, P. Konchalovski, M. Saryan, P. Kuznecov, A. Lentulov, S. Sudeykin, A. Tishler and others.
The Museum of Russian Art (Prof. A. Abrahamyan's collection) in Yerevan was founded based on the private collection of prof. A. Abrahamyan. This donation to its historical homeland Armenia was the greatest expression of his patriotism.
